Kitchen Line Cook / Prep Cook

Excellent working schedule available for cook as follows; Wednesday -Sunday 8am-4pm daily.

We are looking for a prep cook/ line cook/ kitchen rat to assist other team members, assist in menu creation and operations of a successful food service establishment in Champaign,Illinois. Responsibilities include assistance in formulating overall strategy, establishing menu items and keeping stations orderly. To be successful in this role, you should be thoughtful and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring we deliver a quality product. Ultimately, you’ll help our team grow and thrive while creating inventive and beautiful plates with an awesome team at the helm.

Responsibilities

  • day-to-day operations of kitchen and full service cafe

  • Ensure quality of food and beverages is up to company standards

  • Collaborate with owner on new menu items and seasonal offerings

  • Prioritize customer service and resolve any issues that may arise

  • Evaluate and improve operations and performance

  • Prepare regular reports for ownership

  • Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations

  • Availability Tuesday thru Sunday 8am to 4pm

  • Skills

  • Culinary background preferred but not required

  • Proven experience or similar back of house role

  • Knowledge of food service/hospitality and functions

  • Excellent communication skills

Work Experience

  • 1-3 years in Food Service/Hospitality Industry

  • Commercial equipment experience

  • Fast-paced work flow

  • Must be able to stand for 6-8 hours per day

  • Must be able to life 50#

  • Must be able to preform physical duties pertaining to the position
